Sphere of inner and outer Space

Kunsthalle Wil, 2024

The 7 or 9 chair objects are arranged in a circle in the room. Each object consists of two surfaces that can be used as a seat. One surface faces inwards towards the centre of the circle, the other outwards. They can be occupied facing the inside or the outside.
The walk-in installation encourages people to change positions and open up to other perspectives. The circle defines an inner and an outer world, individual and collective memories and offers space for becoming aware of individual views, the exchange in the collective, turning away and turning towards again.

The objects are modelled on the triqueta, three circular arcs that form a knot of the trinity. This symbol stands for different levels of existence as well as for eternity.
